Qualified candidates should have:

  • Current & valid DSHS certification
  • BLS Healthcare Provider
  • Valid Texas DL
  • Additional certifications a plus (ACLS, PALS, ITLS)

  • Learn and practice more skills because you are trained and trusted with a wider scope of practice including IVs, EKGs, and splinting
  • Triage patients to differentiate between immediate and less urgent care
  • Take patient vital signs and communicate patient needs and patient status to the providers
  • Apply splints and wound dressings, prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments including sterilization
  • Serve as a resource for other clinical staff

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • AHA Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Trauma Certification: PHTLS/ITLS
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for work in the United States
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Be at least age of 21-years old at the time of application
  • High-school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Must be of good moral character with no felony convictions as defined by State Statute

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years’ experience working an ALS ambulance
  • Experience working a CCT ambulance
  • CCEMT-P, CCP-C, or FP-C certifications
  • Experience operating Hamilton T1 ventilator, Baxter Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Vapotherm or other HFNC deliver devices, Medfusion 3500 syringe pump, Cardiosave IABP

The Duties include:

  • Provide care and treatment to the sick and injured at the BLS level.
  • Safely operate the ambulance while responding to scenes and the hospital.
  • Respond to "calls for service" as dispatched, assigned, or requested.
  • Complete ambulance, drug, and station check-off and station duties on arrival for shift.
  • Maintain ambulances and stations by keeping them clean and in operational order.
  • Manage and restock supplies as consumed or needed, including fueling the ambulance.
  • Perform public relations functions as requested by Command Staff.
  • Assure run records are appropriately completed in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in general staff meetings and Call Review process as requested.
  • After ninety (90) days the Advanced EMT may request to participate in the ALS credentialing process

  • The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation AM/PMEMS dispatcher is responsible for coordinating transportation services for patients who are unable to drive themselves to medical appointments or treatments.

The job duties of AM/PMEMS dispatcher may include:

  • 1. Receiving and processing requests for transportation services from healthcare facilities, patients, and caregivers.
  • 2. Scheduling transportation services for patients, ensuring that vehicles and drivers are available to meet the needs of patients.
  • 3. Communicating with patients, healthcare providers, and transportation providers to ensure that everyone is aware of the schedule and any changes that may occur.
  • 4. Maintaining accurate records of all transportation requests, including patient information, pick-up and drop-off times, and billing information.
  • 5. Coordinating with transportation providers to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and meet safety standards.
  • 6. Monitoring the performance of transportation providers to ensure that they meet service level agreements and quality standards.
  • 7. Resolving any issues or complaints related to transportation services, including scheduling conflicts, driver behavior, and billing disputes.
  • 8. Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation services.
  • 9. Providing reports and analysis of transportation services to management and other stakeholders.
  • AM/PMES dispatchers often work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to multitask, communicate effectively, and manage their time efficiently. They must also have a good understanding of medical terminology and be able to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients.
  • Additionally, the candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Must be located in Houston or surrounding areas.

  • The person in this position is responsible for transporting patients to and from different destinations.

Responsibilities:

  • Carefully & safely transport non-critical wheelchair patients to their doctor's appointments between Houston & Surrounding areas.
  • Operate wheelchairs including but not limited to lifting and pushing, pulling, basic assemble and dissemble.
  • Complete required documentation and acquire signatures on assigned computer device while keep confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Obey traffic laws and reports any incidents.
  • Daily checkup and maintenance of assigned equipment and vehicle, and report any issues.
  • Assist with ensuring that all units have their equipment and supplies ready as per company protocols.
  • Assist with unit maintenance.
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

  • Must have good knowledge of the city and medical facilities, as well as being experienced in working on the wheelchair van lift, securing the wheelchair, and securing the patient and passengers safely.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and in a professional manner.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.
